Deep in My Heart
Words and Music by Paula Gilbert
October 24, 1997

This song is dedicated to Paula's best friend Don Whitney. Paula met Don at San Jose State while they were both vocal performance majors.
They were in 2 choirs together and one of the groups performed staged as a couple in Pucini's, Opera "La Boheme." This is when Paula met the ex that is referred to in her "All The Ages of Time Song."

Don has passed. Paula says - "Sometimes Life is Painful. I don't mean pain, like the rack, bad food, water, thumb screws, or burning at the stake. I mean normal old grief, especially when one of your best friends dies of Aids. Music helps. Friends, Family, Partners help. Thank you!"

Deep In My Heart by Paula Gilbert
October 24, 1997

Deep in my heart
There's a melody a makin'
Sometimes it springs from a pain deep inside
See who I am
There's a kingdom that's waiting
Waiting to show yo the way to break free.

As the melody takes me on
The melody takes me on
The Melody take me
The melody takes me
The melody takes me on

Deep in my Heart
Deep in my heart.

Some day you'll see
I will hold you and see you
Here in my arms let me carry you away.

Yes, I am free as the melody's speaking
Oh come with me
As I Carry You away.

The melody takes me on
The melody takes me on
The Melody take me
The melody takes me
The melody takes me on

Deep in my Heart
Deep in my Heart
Deep in my Heart

Yes I am free as the Melody's speaking
Oh come with me
As I Carry You Away.

As the melody takes me on
The melody takes me on
The Melody take me
The melody takes me
The melody takes me on
